“My and my partner went for the afternoon taster session. What a wonderful learning experience. We went in knowing absolutely nothing, and have come out having made 3 pieces of pottery to add to the kitchen. Lovely calm space with great guidance. Would highly recommend for trying something completely new!”

“Sheen Pottery is undoubtedly one of the best studios in the area and across London! The space itself is clean, spacious, and incredibly well-organized, creating an environment that naturally boosts your creativity the moment you walk in.

As a beginner, I found it to be the perfect place to learn the basics of hand-building while still being encouraged to tap into my intuitive side. Lindy is a phenomenal teacher; she strikes the perfect balance between being academic/technical and supportive of experimentation. She is full of ideas gathered from her years as an established ceramicist, which is so inspiring. The other teachers are equally friendly and knowledgeable, and Kath, the studio manager, is so accommodating and welcoming.”

“We had the most amazing time at Sheen Pottery. Our teacher gave very clear instruction and had the perfect balance of us producing our own work but being on hand to help get us back on track. The session was fun and we were surprised with what we were able to create. I would highly recommend the beginner class and will definitely be returning. Thank you for a wonderful morning.”

“I did the 6-week mixed pottery course at Sheen Pottery Studio and I loved it! The teachers are friendly and extremely knowledgeable, and I enjoyed learning various skills in hand-building and throwing from them. It was great to learn the steps involved in making ceramics, and I was able to take home some beautiful pieces I created. Highly recommend.”

“I loved this pottery class! The instructor was fantastic - very patient and encouraging. She demonstrated each step several times and also helped each of us individually on our potters wheels. My first pieces were not great, but we had plenty of time to practise and by the end of the class I felt like I was getting the hang of it and I was very pleased with the pieces that I chose. I was given the pottery class as a Christmas present and went on my own, but I felt very comfortable as part of the small, relaxed group. I really had a brilliant time and am hoping to go back.”

“Oh my god ! This was the best day ever ! I am so grateful to stumble upon this gem of an experience . We were met warmly by Kathryn who was our instructor and took us through the process with much patience - how we use the pottery wheels / throw clay/ techniques etc. my 10 year old daughter was very impressed with the detailed instructions and support to enable her to get some good pieces at the end .

Kathryn was so patient , knowledgeable and helped us when we got things wrong . She has a wonderful attitude and developed a good relationship with us .

I would highly recommend this little gem . We will be booking again soon !”

“We did the pottery taster course and it was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon. The class was small, so there was a high level of help, in a fun and relaxed environment. Neither of us had tried pottery before, but we both made something nice enough to be fired. Really recommend.”

“First time doing a taster pottery class and I can say I enjoyed it. The ambience of the class was peaceful and therapeutic, as well as the process of learning how to throw the clay. Our teacher Rita, is very kind, patient, helpful and knowledgeable! I also love the small class size as our teacher can easily give attention to each learner!”

“Great taster class with our family for my Birthday, really enjoyed our time and we got to collect our glazed creations a couple of weeks later. Nice relaxed lesson and we learnt how to throw pots on the wheel and made/decorated some slab boxes. Thoroughly recommended and an East Sheen must visit.”

“We had a taster session. Lindy is patient and excellent at encouraging and as a result I am hooked. It was such a lovely couple of hours trying to learn a new skill and there is something about handling the clay that is meditative.”
