Children’s Private Parties

Our children’s private parties are the perfect opportunity for kids to come and have a go at ceramics in a calm and encourgaing environment. The class will flow with creativity and laughter as they learn how to make in clay.

Our private parties are for children aged 7 years and over and can be either a longer (2.5 hour) or shorter (1.5) session depending on your preference and the amount of people in your group. For any private sessions the minimum booking is for 6 people and we can accommodate for up to 12 people in the studio. 

For shorter 1.5 hour sessions (only suitable for groups of 6 people or less) the minimum booking fee is £450. For longer sessions of 2.5 hours the minimum booking fee is £600 which covers the cost of 6 people, this price increases by £90 per person added.

If your group number does exceed 6 then we do recommend doing the longer session of 2.5 hours as your party will need to be split into two, with one group doing throwing on the wheel whilst the other simultaneously does hand-building, swapping half way through. 

In the shorter 1.5 hour class you will spend the entire class either on the throwing wheel or doing a hand building project, the choice is up to you of which you would prefer to do. If you choose throwing on the wheel the class will consist of a quick demo from the tutor explaining how to centre and manipulate the clay. The kids will then get a chance to form their own creations on the wheel, with the help of the tutor. Each child can keep their favourite two pieces to be glazed in a colour of their choosing from a selection of our 20 in house glazes. We will then glaze and fire for you to collect at a later date. If you choose to do a hand-building project this will consist of a slab building project in which they will craft and decorate a ceramic box. 

In the longer 2.5 hour session if the party exceeds 6 then you will split into two groups with one learning throwing on the wheel for the first half of the class and the other group simultaneously learning how to hand-build with a project focusing on crafting and decorating a ceramic box. The groups will then swap half way through ensuring everyone has a go at everything. If your group is 6 or less and you choose to do the longer session your welcome to either spend the whole time on the throwing wheel or split the class in half having a go on the wheel and hand-building.
