Throwing Mugs Workshop
£180
Workshop Dates:
Friday, November 14th — 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Saturday, November 15th — 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Instructor: Lindy Barletta
This two-day workshop will guide you through the process of throwing and refining mugs on the potter’s wheel. You’ll learn how to turn, finish, and attach handles, with a focus on traditional pulled handles as well as some contemporary variations.
Designed to stretch and develop your skills, the course encourages you to replicate forms in a way that’s both fun and challenging. It’s best suited for improvers and intermediate-level makers—though complete beginners are welcome to give it a try.
Day 1 — Friday, November 14th:
We’ll concentrate on throwing the mug body, experimenting with different shapes and clay quantities. By the end of the session, you’ll have at least two mugs with similar forms ready for refinement.
Day 2 — Saturday, November 15th:
On the second day, we’ll refine the mugs created on Day 1 and attach handles, exploring both traditional pulled methods and more modern techniques.
